frequently asked questions
what is rounding?
Rounding is an advanced technique designed to purify the mind and body by facilitating deep rest. The process consists of a specific sequence of gentle yoga poses (asanas), balancing breath work (pranayama), meditation, and lying down. A typical round is about one hour long.
On a rounding retreat, you will complete several rounds a day, and in this way, will let go of exponential amounts of stress. A weekend’s Rounding Retreat can be the equivalent of six months of twice-daily meditation practice.
A round is typically performed on a yoga mat and doesn’t require any special equipment or skills. Comfortable clothes can be worn.
who can attend a rounding retreat?
This retreat is open to all graduates of a Vedic Meditation course or mantra based practice.

what if i release stress physically or emotionally?
Releasing stress is a natural part of the residential rounding retreat experience. While most of your time here will be filled with blissful, uplifting moments, you may also find yourself feeling a bit tired or emotionally sensitive as old layers of tension naturally clear away.
As masterfully trained teachers we are available to help you move smoothly through any experience that arises. There is ample time between rounds to meet with your teachers and discuss anything that may come up.

i haven’t shared a room with someone on a retreat. what’s that like?
We take great care in matching you with a compatible roommate for your retreat experience.
While your room is a comfortable place to rest at night, most guests find that between morning and evening rounds, shared meals, enlightening talks, and the property’s expansive outdoor spaces, there’s little time spent in rooms.
If you do crave more seclusion, there are places on the property where you can be alone. In embracing a spirit of openness and adaptability, many meditators leave not only restored, but also with a lasting friendship with their new room mates. All shared rooms will be same sex unless otherwise advised.
