love & devotion: the power and beauty of living with an open heart

  • Be Here Nowra 62 North Street Nowra, NSW, 2541 Australia (map)

love. It's one of the pinnacles of the human experience.

We sing songs about it. We write poems as an expression of it. And we cry at movies while witnessing it dance across the screen. Love is a force that has the ability to absolutely transform our experience of life, if only we let it. But in order for this to happen, we must first understand exactly what it is that we're surrendering into.

What is love, actually? Why does it exist? How does devotion play a role? And how can we push through the fears that often hold us back from enjoying the experience of love and devotion in its fullness?

Join Rachel for a deep dive into the realms of the heart, exploring what it feels like to live in an open-hearted way and to tap into the incredible power and wisdom that comes from fearlessly surrendering into our deepest and truest nature, which is to love and be loved.

  • Rachel Gross is a dedicated Teacher of Vedic Meditation with students all around the world. Her teaching style is characterized by curiosity, playfulness, and a distinctly feminine energy, and she is known for her ability to share the ancient wisdom of Veda in a modern and relatable way.

Her mission is to help people rediscover the truth and beauty of their own being so that they can be an expression of their deepest inner nature as opposed to an expression of their accumulated stresses. She continues to train extensively under the guidance of her teacher, Thom Knoles, and travels to India regularly to immerse herself in Vedic knowledge and culture to ensure that her connection to the roots of this tradition stay pure and strong.

Rachel's life has been rich with diverse experiences, from the hustle of the music industry in New York City to becoming a lawyer in Boston and working as a consultant in Australia. She has faced various challenges along the way, including divorce, chronic illness, an eating disorder, depression, and a strong streak of perfectionism and a need to control and overachieve. In every case, Rachel has emerged with resilience and with awareness of the many valuable lessons learned, both for herself and to be shared with others. Recently discovering her neurodivergence, Rachel remains open and curious in her exploration of life's intricacies, continuously learning how to embrace her own true nature and how to remain open-hearted in the face of unexpected change.

In her happy place, Rachel can be found singing, dancing, cooking, colouring in, enjoying nature, and laughing with the people she loves. She values deep connections and meaningful conversations, with a particular interest in understanding the role that love and devotion play in our human experience. Rachel feels a deep commitment to living from the heart and to pushing through barriers that hinder full expression, and it brings her great joy to support others in doing the same.

Though she normally teaches all over the world, Rachel is currently on sabbatical and enjoying life on the banks of the Shoalhaven River with her amazing partner, Barron, where they are building a home and a life together. She is excited and humbled to be a member of the Be Here Nowra community, where she will continue her pursuit of living in service to love and to assisting others in their own quest for Self-discovery.
