introduction to rounding

  • Be Here Nowra 62 North Street Nowra, NSW, 2541 Australia (map)

a powerful addition to your meditation practice

Rounding is an advanced practice in which meditators perform a series of gentle Vedic yoga asanas (postures) that take about 12-15 minutes. slow Pranayama (simple breathing exercise) for about 3-5 minutes. our regular 20-minute Vedic Meditation practice (or longer, with an advanced technique), and finally an extended chetanasana or lie-down (horizontal rest) for minimum of 10 minutes.

By doing this specific sequence and combination of activities, we signal to the body that it is time to rest very deeply, very quickly. We ramp up the amount of stress that we’re releasing in one sitting (equivalent to weeks’ worth of regular twice daily meditation), and we simultaneously strengthen the nervous system so that we’re not as susceptible to the pesky side effects of un-stressing.

Incorporating rounding into our regular routine is extremely powerful at dissolving years of accumulated and deeply-rooted stress and fatigue, meaning that rounding allows us to accelerate the purification of our body so that we can more easily access and enjoy the baseline of bliss that is resting naturally within each of us.
